This week's WWE SmackDown happened from Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The fighters featured in this edition were Roman Reigns, Summer Rae, Natalya, Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, AJ Styles, Cesaro and more.

The show started with Roman Reigns and he was mostly booed. A promo for Reigns was aired during the event and it was about he being The Guy, not necessarily good or bad, Wrestling Inc. reported.
Later, Styles arrived and interrupted Reigns. He stated that he is after the title. However, Reigns cleared that he can never defeat him. During WWE SmackDown April 7 edition, the official date for the title was not announced.
However, Styles was teamed up with Cesaro to go up against Jericho and Owens.
The first match of the night was Lucha Dragons vs. The Vaudevillains. The Lucha Dragons were defeated by The Vaudevillains and the crowd went quiet, Wrestlezone reported. It was shocking for the crowd that U.S. Champion Kalisto was pinned down.
Next up on WWE SmackDown was Natalya vs. Rae. Ric Flair and WWE Women's Champion Charlotte were present for commentary. Rae was defeated by Natalya's Sharpshooter. Post-match, Natalya stared at Charlotte but the latter left without taking things forward.
For the Intercontinental Championship, The Miz and Zack Ryder collided. Ryder was interrupted by Maryse and he was punched by The Miz in the face. The Skill Crushing Finale did the job for The Miz as he retained the title for the night.
In the Outcasts, Curtis Axel went up against Apollo Crews after Axel lost in rock paper scissors. Crews won the match with a sit-out powerbomb.
In the backstage promo, Baron Corbin said that the End of Days was here and he wants to take down Dolph Ziggler after their WWE Raw match.
Later, Dean Ambrose and Tyler Breeze entered into the ring for their match. Ambrose beat Breeze using Dirty Deeds and a clothesline.
The final match of the night featured Styles and Cesaro vs. Owens and Jericho. Styles and Cesaro beat Jericho and Owens and at the end, Sami Zayn arrived and demanded a fight. Styles was distracted and Owens used the opportunity to win the match.
