Produce 101 I.O.I Girl Group
After the conclusion of Mnet's latest survival show, "Produce 101," I.O.I girl group will debut in May.
The final members of I.O.I. were revealed on the final episode of the show on Apr. 1 via live telecast and those who made the cut are: JYP's Jeon Somi, Jellyfish's Kim Sejong and Kang Mina, Fantagio's Choi Yoojung and Kim Doyeon, Redline's Kim Sohye, M&H's Kim Chungha, MBK's Jung Chaeyeon, Pledis' Pinky and Im Nayoung, and Starship's Yu Yunjung.
Below are the positions of the 11 members in the group:
Leader - Im Nayoung
According to reports, the 11 members cast their votes on who is fit to be the leader of the group and Pledis' trainee Im Nayoung got the most votes. Nayoung is also the oldest in the group. She is also the sole rapper in the group.
In the past episode, Im Nayoung showed her capabilities as a leader when she led the "Say My Name" group in the position evaluation. She worked on a schedule to keep the practice sessions on track. She is also very organized, which is very important for a leader.
Im Nayoung's nickname is "Stone Nayoung" because of her lack of expression, but proved to be a warm-hearted person and very lenient to other trainees.
Center - Jeon Somi
After winning the top spot in "Produce 101," JYP's trainee Jeon Somi also earned the title being the center of the group. As center, she will become the focus of performances. Somi has been the center many twice in the reality program. She is the center in "Bang Bang" and "Yum Yum" performances. Somi is the youngest member or maknae of the group.
Vocal Line - Yu Yunjung and Kim Sejeong
The nation's producers casted two of the most powerful vocals among the 101 trainees in the show. Yu Yunjung proved her vocal prowess since the first mission when she sang SNSD's "Into The New World". She also belted the high notes in the position and concept evaluation.
Meanwhile, Kim Sejeong proved her mastery on notes when she sang "Yanghwa Bridge" in the position evaluation and placed first.
Dance Line - Kim Chungha, Choi Yoojung, Im Nayoung and Kang Mina
Great dancers are included in the group. Although YMC Entertainment did not release an official statement, it is suspected that Dancing Queen Kim Chungha will be the main dancer. Choi Yoojung, Im Nayoung and Kang Mina will complete the dance line.
Visual Line - Jung Chaeyeon, Pinky, Kim Doyeon, Kim Sohye, and Jeon Somi
Since entertainment companies sent their best looking trainees, I.O.I girl group is like a flower pot full of beautiful faces with different charms. While Jeon Somi remained in the center, her fellow members Jung Chaeyeon, Pinky, Kim Doyeon, and Kim Sohye are also the visuals of the group.
While some people may not agree that Kim Sohye has the best visuals, she has her own charms that people like. Moreover, she is an inspiration to people who think they lack talent, but was able to achieve her dream through hardwork. As Kahi said in Sohye's performance, "it is 100% hardwork that is why it is beautiful".
