Arguably one of the most anticipated games this year, "Mafia 3" is just one of the few games tackling the mafia genre and it is expected to pick up where it left off from "Mafia 2." Now, recent reports suggest the game will be out by this month.
It is rumored that "Mafia 3" PS4, Xbox One and PC release date will be arriving this April after Game Stop posted that the game will be sold for $59.99, Cross Map reported. Also, the game will introduce a new protagonist in Lincoln Clay but fans will still get a glimpse of the previous protagonist, Vito Scaletta as he will work with Clay to form the biggest Mafia mob in New Orleans.
Also, the game will introduce a new system called World Interaction System. This means that a lot of emphasis will be put on non-player characters as it will seem like they have their own story to tell, which gamers could follow.
One example of this is cops will be seen taking advantage of people who were discriminated during this period like interracial couples. Also, it was confirmed that this will be an ongoing theme in the entire game.
Also, it is worth noting that it has been five years since "Mafia 2" launch date and for those who have played the game, it can be easily suggested that gamers were left hanging at the ending as the fate of Vito's best friend, Joe remains unknown.
Apparently, Take-Two Interactive president Karl Slatoff is aware of that and they are actually doing it on purpose. Slatoff told Gamespot that they do not want the gamers to feel fatigued with their games if they release it annually.
"We don't intend to change annual strategy because of product fatigue," answered Slatoff during the interview. "(Take-Two) creates franchise value and (releases have) to be managed deliberately.
He was also proud to say that every time they released a sequel several years after its predecessors, it was always a hit. Also, the last thing they want to do as a company is to milk their game franchises which is usually the cause of decreasing quality.
