It cannot be denied that HBO's "Game of Thrones" season 6 will air two days from now (April 24, 2016). With that said, fans of its book version, "The Winds of Winter," are wondering if whether the award winning author George R.R. Martin would be able to release the book before its TV adaptation begins.
It has been reported that R.R. Martin, despite of his remarkable talent in writing, is said to be struggling making "The Winds of Winter" available before the air date of its TV adaptation.
Although "The Winds of Winter" may not be released ahead of "Game of Thrones" season 6, the executive producers of the TV series, Dan Weiss and David Benioff, did clarify that the TV adaptation will not spoil the novel, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The showrunners said that the TV series has deviated from the books, but they still maintained the fundamental ingredients of the story. The EPs added that fans of "The Winds of Winter" will be surprise when they read the book after seeing "Game of Thrones" season 6.
Meanwhile, pertaining to the TV series, it was not so long ago when HBO confirmed that the most (arguably) popular character in the series is dead, BGR reported. During "Game of Thrones" season 5's finale episode, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, was repeatedly stabbed by his fellow Night's Watch members.
The finale sparked speculations that even though Snow was seen lying on the ground covered with his blood, fans still predicted that Snow will survive his life or death situation, and that he may be healed or resurrected by Melisandre (The Red Woman), played by Carice van Houten, just like what happened to Stannis Baratheon, played by Stephen Dillane, who came to life after facing his death.
However, the last time fans saw Stannis was when he is again facing a life or death situation in the woods, after being defeated by the soldiers of the Lannisters, and it is still not clear whether he would survive that.
While "Game of Thrones" season 6 is expected to air on April 24, reports claim that "The Winds of Winter" will be available in early 2017.
