Newcastle, with their new head coach former Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez at the helm, is currently on a three-game undefeated run of one win and two draws. They are only one point behind 17th and 18th-placed teams Sunderland and Norwich City in the overall standings and could still avoid relegation with three games left in their campaign this season.

The Magpies are coming off an impressive 2-2 draw with contending team Liverpool FC on the road at the Anfield last Saturday, as per SkySports.

Liverpool scored the first two goals of the contest at the second and 30th minutes courtesy of forward Daniel Sturridge and midfielder Adam Lallana to go on a quick 2-0 lead at the half.

However, Newcastle managed to comeback from the deficit in the second half with a header from Senegalese striker Papiss Cissé three minutes into the period and another one from midfielder Jack Colback at the 66th.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace suffered a 0-2 defeat in the hands of Manchester United on April 20th, Wednesday at the Old Trafford, as reported by The Guardian.

An own goal from Eagles vice-captain Damien Delaney started the scoring for the hosts right at the fourth minute before Red Devils defender Matteo Darmian doubled the lead at the 55th minute in the second half to hand manager Alan Pardew's boys their third consecutive winless game.

Palace is now at the 16th spot of the league table, eight points above the bottom three relegation area with three games left in their current campaign. They are still in danger of getting relegated to the Football League Championship next season if they can't win at least one of their remaining games.

The predicted result is a tough 1-0 win for Newcastle United to climb out of the relegation zone.
