News of The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) starring in the "Jumanji" remake have raised questions on whether he only picks a franchise that depicts him to be bigger than the concept. These uncertainties surfaced soon after he confirmed that he would play the lead role in "Jumanji" remake.
According to The celebrity café, Johnson announced the project, adding that the crew would start shooting "Jumanji" this fall. Unlike him, Kevin Hart, who is prospected to feature in the same movie, has not yet confirmed his participation. Rumors are pointing out that the former will star alongside the 43-year-old actor in the upcoming movie.
Accding to Forbes, Johnson's choice of any franchise in the past few years has always given him credit for the property when it hits, instead of the concept he mirrors. "Rampage," "Hercules," "Journey 2," "Retaliation," "San Andreas," "The Rise of The Cobra" and "Central intelligence," not to mention his role as Lex Luther in Warner Bros' "Dawn of Justice," were among the few that got highlighted to confirm the assertion.
The franchises were outlined as some of the cases where Johnson received protection through "Preordained awareness," after which, his star power allowed him to take credit for the hits. The report on his involvement in "Jumanji," stirred talks of how his "added value elements" and inclusion could make the film commercially viable.
In other news, Sonny Bill Williams has lined up Johnson for the upcoming rugby tournament. William reportedly asked The Rock to help in the New Zealand sevens rugby team with the remaining tournaments in the World Series after the Olympics. The "SOS" call was a result of the injury crisis pulling down the team.
This offer came after Johnson communicated about his respect for the sport, where he also asserted that it was one of the toughest sports he had ever played when he was young. He, apparently, responded to Williams' call saying that he would be glad to help and expressed his support for New Zealand sevens.
