"Dance Moms" season 6 stars Kendall Vertes, Kalani Hilliker, JoJo Siwa, Brynn Rumfallo and Nia Frazier recently filmed their first episode without Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler.
After Melissa Gisoni's announcement in episode 16, it was confirmed that the Ziegler sisters will be leaving ALDC and "Dance Moms" at the end of the season 6. The hit Lifetime reality TV show filmed its first 18 episodes a few months ago before the network decided to request more episodes from the series.
After episode 18, the Ziegler sisters will still be featured on the show, but they will no longer be joining any competition
Meanwhile, the members of the ALDC and their coach Abby Lee Miller recently participated at the Fierce Dance Competition in Fresno, California.
The results of the competition weren't as impressive as they once were and it seems that the Ziegler sisters' departure might have had something to do with it.
For their group dance "Wax Madonnas," the members of the ALDC only placed second in the advanced teen division and fourth overall.
Siwa, Vertes and Hilliker also hard a trio performance entitled "Abby's Angels" that only ranked them second in the advanced division and third overall in the duo/trio categories.
Frazier was paired with two male ALDC dancers Jalen and Simeon and they performed an open routine called "Love Anyone You Want To." Their performance ranked first in the teen duet/trio division, but was only second overall.
According to the show's spoiler site, Miller has decided to bring in male dancers every week to see whether or not they will be able to work well with the female dancers. Before Jalen and Simeon, Miller invited Will Simmons and Yadiel Figueroa to join them last week.
Other than their competition, the members of ALDC were also pretty busy with their other engagements. Rumfallo, Vertes and Hilliker attended a Travis Wall class at EDGE Dance Studio.
Rumfallo also attended rehearsals for her upcoming appearance on "The Ellen Show" with Dancer Palooza.
Also, Frazier worked on a still-secret project with Mikey. The latter also happens to be her vocal coach and the director of her music videos.
"Dance Moms" season 6 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
