After six years of waiting, fans can soon get their hands on the newest installment of the popular mafia genre game, "Mafia 3." The game is set for an Oct. 7 release date for PS4, PC and Xbox One as Hangar 13 will try to surpass its predecessor through the eyes of the gamers.

The game is now available for pre-order and gamers who avail the offering will get the Family Kick-back DLC, which features three unique cars and weaponry, PC Games learned. Much like other modern game, "Mafia 3" will have a season pass that will likely include story missions for Lincoln Clay's executives.

The game only has single-player mode and it does not offer the "GTA V" online mode type of experience. However, the world map for this game is expected to be just as huge and will be very interactive as well thanks to the World Interaction System. With this feature, players can observe NPCs trying to convey a message and tell a story of their own.

With regards to the game's relevance to "Mafia 2," the game is set 18 years after the events of Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro's parting. It is worth noting that the latter is perceived as dead after the vehicle he was riding took a different direction compared to Vito, who Leo Galante has promised to spare.

Now, the game is set in the perspective of Lincoln Clay, the new main character, as he takes on crime lords in New Orleans, Louisiana. The game is said to tackle the issue of racism heavily as well as discrimination against women and organized crime.

Gameplay wise, the game is expected to be much more diverse compared to "Mafia 2." The map is said to be more accessible which means players will have more room to explore the city. Also, the game will now have varying storylines depending on how Clay will interact with his lieutenants Vito, Cassandra and Burke.

Moreover, the main character will have much more control of his gang compared to Vito in the previous game. Also, the hand to hand combat system will reportedly be much better as well, Gamespot reported.
