Kabaneri episode 4 -The journey to Kongokaku, the Shogun's greatest stronghold, continues after taking a stop to repair the busted water tank and at the same time offer prayer to the people they lost at Aragane Station. Soon, they'll realize that reaching their ultimate destination won't be that easy because their path is literally riddled with Kabanes waiting for perfect moment to attack.
Synopsis:
Episode 3 revealed Kabaneri's true nature that these being are somewhat existing between a human and kabaneri and they possess incredible strength, agility and speed, not to mention the ability to regenerate. The only drawback of being a Kabaneri is they no longer feed on ordinary foods, instead they prefer blood to replenish lost energy. Ikoma exhibited this sudden thirst for blood when he began attacking Lady Ayame at the end of episode 3.
Moving forward, the Koutetsujou resumes their journey towards Kongokaku after a pit stop in the middle of nowhere. Along the way, they'll realize the peril of traveling on board the Kotetsujou. Kabanes may have already lost their ability to think rationally, but they can attack as a group once they sense incoming humans.
That proves to be true when a horde of Kabanes make an ambush attack just before the Kotetsujou enters the tunnel. All hell broke loose as these flesh eating monsters begin to sneak in to train one by one, putting the lives of thousands aboard the Iron Fortress in complete jeopardy.
Mumei and Ikoma will try to pacify the situation, but the number of Kabanes is simply too great. Worse, Mumei, the only experienced Kabaneri fighter on the train, seems to have exerted a lot of energy in fending off these monsters. With Mumei helpless in her current condition, Ikoma must rise to occasion and realize his role as the 'Shield' for his fellow Kabaneri.

What to expect in this episode:
If episode 3 intends to slow down the pace of the story just a little bit, 'Flowing Blood' promises to be an exhilarating episode from start to finish. Blood is going to splatter a lot again, while there will be some revelation about Kabane's ability to wield weapons. Moreover, based on the promo for this episode, this episode will finally see Ikoma using his Kabaneri power at full strength. That's sure to be exciting to watch.

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress episode 4 will be aired this Thursday on Fuji TV's Noitamina anime block at 24:25 time slot (12:25 a.m Japanese Time). Amazon Prime will stream the uncensored version of the episode with English subtitle at around 2:30 p.m (US ET). You can also watch the anime on Kabaneri Streaming.
