The NBA free agency rumors continue and more players are being connected to different teams.
Joakim Noah, a Chicago Bull since being drafted by the team in 2007 might change his address and signal the end of an era.
However, that change could reunite him with Coach Tom Thibodeau, his mentor who brought out the best in him in Chicago as Hoops Habit noted that he is the best free agent target for the youthful Minnesota Timberwolves.
"The Wolves need a complement to Karl Anthony-Towns, and the defensive skills of Noah would surely fit well. He already understands the system Thibs ran in Chicago."
His projected role on the team plays to his strengths because the T-Wolves roster is stuffed with talent. "Offensively, Noah wouldn't have to do much, but as a solid facilitator, he can add to the playmaking in the lineup."
Another interesting free agent is Evan Turner. While he was often criticized for being a draft bust (2nd overall in 2010 behind John Wall, drafted before DeMarcus Cousins, Paul George and Greg Monroe), he has redeemed himself to be a worthy NBA player with the Boston Celtics after lackluster outings with the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers.
A report from CBS notes that New York Knicks' president Phil Jackson is high on Turner because he looks like a good fit for the triangle offense. "Jackson loves big guards, who can play defense and handle the ball. While Turner isn't the outside shooter you'd like to see in the Triangle offense to help spread the floor, he fits the mold of everything else Jackson wants," Zach Harper wrote.
However, Turner has also been noticed by league executives and one team that could definitely use him is the LA Clippers. If Doc Rivers keeps the core of the team together, he can only make minor additions and Turner is an ideal fit as Hoops Habit illustrated.
"Evan Turner is a cheaper candidate that could help the team go above and beyond. He was the sixth man for the Boston Celtics and was a solid option facilitating offense and attacking the paint. He has the size to play small forward, which would allow J.J. Redick to play shooting guard the entire game, and he would run the second unit and potentially join the starters for crunch time."
The Clippers are at a disadvantage if a price war ensues, but it will give Turner a chance to join a Western contender. The Clippers are a better team than their first round playoff exit projects them to be. They just have hard luck with injuries.
