It had to happen. With marijuana or weed going legal in more and more U.S. states, it was inevitable tech would move in to support this trend.
A new app named "High There" is described as a Tinder-style dating app that brings lovers of Mary Jane together.
Like other dating apps, users create profiles and swipe through potential matches nearby, Mashable reported. High There, however, was developed specifically to match people based on their preferences for consuming cannabis.
Here's how it goes. If a user prefers vaping over smoking, the app will match him with other vapers nearby. The app asks a user to specify his energy level when he's high so he won't be paired with low-energy users.
If you like what you see, click "Connect" to get in touch or "Next" to move on to the next pothead, said Tech Times.
"We wanted to build a cool piece of technology that solved the problem of where do million and millions of cannabis consumers go to meet people, connect with people and build relationships," said High There CEO Todd Mitchem.
"A lot of people say we're the Tinder of weed, but that's only one facet of the whole thing. A lot of people say we're the Tinder of weed, but that's only one facet of the whole thing. It's so much bigger."
He said High There, which is based in Denver, is also a kind of social network for smokers seeking recommendations on local dispensaries or who just want to make friends with like-minded folks.
The app is only available in the 23 states that currently have medical marijuana laws on the books. It uses "geofencing" to lock out people in states without laws allowing the use of weed.
The free app is available on Android. It'll be on Apple's App Store in a few days.
