Rumors are out that Italian Serie A squad AC Milan could snag world-class goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimović if the reported China take over will push through this summer.
Milan is said to be in talks with a Chinese consortium, speculated to be spearheaded by Alibaba's Jack Ma who is also a part-owner of five straight Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande, for a possible exclusivity sale of the club in the summer, ESPN reported.
The report mentioned that a final agreement could be reached by June 15 and if that happens then the 34-year-old Sweden captain could be a transfer target in the upcoming transfer window for I Rossoneri.
With the Chinese investors' financial power soon to support Milan, the Italian club will be an attractive destination for some of the football world's top names, including Ibrahimović, who is a former player of the San Siro residents.
As reports of a China take over in Milan spreads, the 6-foot-5 striker was quoted as saying that he is open of a possible return to the club anytime in the future.
"I have a good relationship with Milan and I care about them. They are the biggest club I played for," said the Paris Saint-Germain forward. "It wasn't me who wanted to leave when I left Milan, it was other people, but it went the way it went. Now we'll see how the future is."
"You never know if the future will be the same as the past, but let's see. All will be revealed soon," he added.
Speculations abound that Milan sold Ibrahimović and teammate Thiago Silva to Les Parisiens in the summer of 2012 because of financial difficulties, which drastically reduced after the said deal.
Ibrahimović had played two seasons for Milan at that time, scoring 56 goals in 85 appearances in all competitions. He just finished his fourth season with PSG, all resulting in Ligue 1 championships for the Parisian club, as his contract with them expires this summer.
Meanwhile, Football Italia indicated that the Sweden international also received two huge offers from a Chinese Super League squad and Manchester United to join them at season's end.
Ibrahimović said to have turned down the China offer for "sporting and family reasons despite having the chance to become the highest paid player in the world" and would also reject United's bid if the Red Devils fail to qualify in next season's Champions League tournament.
