The winner between Soma and Eishi's match was finally unveiled and it was a crushing defeat for the former. Nevertheless, he caught one of the best cook's attention and it further solidified his belief that this year's freshmen are a force to be reckoned with.
Last chapter, Erina finally named the winning dish and as expected, Eishi was victorious against Soma. However, the two judges were really torn between his and Soma's dish. Since Soma lost, he needs to join Central. However, Eishi told him that he is waiving the deal as he sees Soma as someone who will never abide by his rules. Soma strongly opposed his opponent's decision as it will only hurt his pride. Hence, he let him to continue fighting against the Central.
As he left the room, Eishi remarked that this year's freshmen are on a whole new level and he sees great potential on Soma. After several days, the Survivor's Purge resumes and at venue C, Tantanmen RS lost which means the club is dissolved. That is not the case at venue B though as Soma's colleagues are destroying their opponents from Central. Tadokoro, once a pushover, was able to defeat one of Central's best, Shigemichi.
Also, Mito Ikumi won and as a result, they were able to preserve both the Specialties Research Society and Don RS. Scene shifts to Azami and Eishi and they noticed the fast-rising freshmen. Eishi also noted that they seem to rally behind Soma. Hence, they came up with a way to break the spirit of these freshmen as the new arc, "Promotion Exams" begins.
Now, fans over at Manga Helpers were a bit disappointed with the outcome of the Eishi and Soma match. User Showatt stated that it could have been better if Soma actually joined Central and saw the good sides of their cause. Soma then defeats all the Polar Star Dorm students but will ultimately lose to Erina, reminding him of what he has been fighting for all along.
Meanwhile, fans over at Reddit believe there will be a new batch of Elite Ten members and fans are interested to see Soma fall under Momo or Rindou's wing. Here is a review of the previous chapter.
