Square Enix's latest installment of "Kingdom Hearts" - "Kingdom Hearts 3" - may not hit the shelves until next year.
Square Enix's financial report that was shown to its investors in May 12 confirmed that the highly anticipated "Kingdom Hearts 3" will not be released until after April 2017, HNGN reported. The fiscal report that was shown to its investors covered Square Enix's fiscal year that ended March 31, 2016.
In addition, the presentation did not only include "Kingdom Hears 3" on Square Enix 2017 fiscal year offering, the much anticipated game was also titled as "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" and not "Kingdom Hearts 3."
Although "Kingdom Hearts 3," or "Kingdom Hearts 2.8," is missing on the slides presented to the company's investors, there are seven games that fans would be delighted to play while waiting for "Kingdom Hearts" latest installment. All seven games, which includes "World of Final Fantasy," "Rise of the Tomb Raider," "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," "Dragon Quest Heroes II," "SaGa Scarlet Grace," and "Final Fantasy XV," will be released before March 2017.
Meanwhile, although "Kingdom Hearts 3" (Kingdom Hearts 2.8) will not be released until Q1 2017, rumors has it that Square Enix will still give some glimpse and introduce the game on the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2016), which will kick off on June 14.
The rumor sparked when "Kingdom Hearts Unchained X" producer Hironori Okayama said that the company will likely reveal a huge announcement come E3 2016.
On the other hand, even though the release or the unveiling is still uncertain, rumor has it that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will introduce three new playable characters, and will feature improved gameplay and battle system.
"Kingdom Hearts 3," or "Kingdom Hearts 2.8," is expected to be released for Xbox One, Ps4 and PC once it will hit the shelves on 2017.
