"My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident," the former Olympian said. "It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time."

Jenner said that he is praying for them and will continue to cooperate so as to help out in every possible way. He was one of the four drivers involved in the fatal car crash on Pacific Coast Highway on Saturday, only a few miles away from the Olympian's home in Malibu.

Sgt. Phillip Brooks from Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Station told CNN that the accident happened when a Prius suddenly stopped on the highway for unidentified reasons. The car-domino started when a white Lexus crashed into the stationary Prius, and then hit by Jenner's car. The white Lexus then drifted to the traffic which was again struck by a black Hummer, causing the death of the driver of the Lexus.

Sgt. Brooks also denied the reports in the accident that it was caused by Jenner who was trying to avoid paparazzi. He said that there was no evidence that there were photographers following Jenner during that time.

Contrary to the reports, Brooks also mentioned that the police had not issued Jenner a search warrant in order to check his phone records to see if he was texting while driving. In addition to that, a source also validated that Jenner was not texting while driving before the accident happened.

Police reports also state that Jenner had passed the sobriety test and submitted a blood test as well. Jenner is fully cooperating with the investigation that is being carried out by the authorities.
