"The Flash" Season 2 finale is set to air May 24, Tuesday. Episode 23 is titled "The Race of His Life" and it features an epic confrontation between Barry Allen and Zoom. The penultimate segment final moments came as a shocker to fans. Zoom kidnaps Barry's father Henry and kills him in front of Barry's eyes. Meanwhile, Barry is forced to reveal himself as the Flash to Wally West.
Moving on to "The Flash" Season 2 episode 23. The finale is expected to see the aftermath of the fallout and how Barry decides to deal with it. According to the Spoilers Guide's description of the forthcoming instalment, Barry is determined to bring Zoom down as he seeks revenge.
When he finds out that Zoom is on the path of destruction, he decides to do whatever it takes to stop him. A promo video for "The Flash" Season 2 finale teases the ultimate showdown between Barry and Zoom. Zoom suggests Barry race with him in order to see who the fastest man alive is. However, Zoom's ulterior motive is to take the other planets in the multiverse when he races and use the energy Barry creates.
Meanwhile, Barry and Wally come face to face after Barry's true identity is revealed.
"I had no idea you were The Flash," Wally West tells Barry in the promo. "All that you've done for everyone, now this with your Dad and Zoom, I'm so sorry." Scroll down to watch the video online.
In an interview with TV Line at The CW's Upfront event, "The Flash" leading actor Grant Gustin, who plays the titular role, states that the finale will see Barry in the "darkest place" and an "emotional ending."
"He's at a crossroad. [He's] at a really dark place and not sure what to do, I would imagine. So, I haven't thought about Barry or where he is going since we ended, because it was such an emotional ending and I needed a break from the character," Gustin said.
At the red carpet, actor Jesse L. Martin, who plays the role of Detective Joe West, teased "ridiculously" surprising reveal of the man in the iron mask. In addition, as noted by the above-mentioned website, the actor suggests that fans will finally see the reaction of Team Flash to Henry's death. And Joe will try to comfort the grief-stricken Barry.
