"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will not air until fall 2016. Meanwhile, fans are curious to know what happens next when episode 1 goes on air and where things go from here. Season 12 finale featured massive relationship drama. Owen and Amelia got married, April and Jackson were blessed with a baby girl, Arizona offered Callie shared custody of Sofia, and Ben and Bailey reconciled. At the same time, sparks continue to fly between Nathan and Meredith. However, Maggie shocks Meredith when she reveals that she likes Nathan.
In the meantime, Ellen Pompeo, the actress who plays the role of Meredith Grey has dished out what's next for her character and her romance with Nathan. When "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 premieres, it is expected to explore a possible love triangle between Meredith, Nathan and Maggie and the actress is "excited to play it." She told Entertainment Weekly that the "triangle will be fun."
"I am excited to play it. He's safe for Meredith because nobody likes him and she knew she couldn't be in a relationship with him," Pompeo said. "That triangle will be fun. I just hope it's written differently. I would assume that it's going to be written differently. I just don't want to play the same thing that I played in the last love triangle. 10 years have passed, so hopefully Meredith responds to this differently than she did 10 years ago."
As for Amelia and Owen, fans can expect to see the couple enjoy some happy times. Speaking to TV Line, "Grey's Anatomy" actress Caterina Scorsone, who plays the role of Amelia, assured that the couple "get to have a little bit of a honeymoon before being struck by tragedy."
In additional news, fans must note that Sara Ramirez's Callie Torres will not return as a regular cast for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. The actress recently announced her exit. However, there is still hope for her return to the show. According to TV Line, Shonda Rhimes "left the door wide open for Sara Ramirez to make the occasional guest appearance as Callie." Unfortunately, it was Samantha Sloyan's Penny's last appearance on the show.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 is expected to return in September 2016 on ABC. Fans must note the network is yet to reveal the official airdate. So stay tuned for more spoilers and updates.
