"Preacher" Season 1, episode 2 airdate and spoilers
"Preacher" Season 1, episode 2 is not airing this Sunday, May 29. The show is taking a one-week break and episode 2 will air on June 2.
The new episode focuses on Jesse trying to be a good preacher, but there is a mysterious duo after him and he is unaware. Meanwhile, the enigmatic cowboy enters in episode 2 of "Preacher" Season 1.
In other "Preacher" news, Dominic Cooper, who plays the lead character, Jesse, talked to Vulture about how was roped in for the role.
He started off by saying that it was the "most unusual meeting" of his life.
"There were five hairy men in a sweaty room on the Sony lot, trying to describe something undescribable. They started by mentioning the characters, and they said, "There's this kid that looks like an anus." [Laughter.] "He becomes a really famous musician. That might be in it." I'm like, "This is good, really tempting, so far." [Laughter.]" Cooper said.
Later, Cooper received the script and loved it, he also read the comics. He added that he was "desperate" to play Jesse.
Meanwhile, the show creators Sam Catlin and Seth Rogen talked about taking a different course than the comic.
"Garth was actually one of the first people to say we should do that, honestly. I think it was like this thing that we were afraid to say to some degree, which was, This is an amazing comic; but an amazing comic and an amazing TV show are two very different things," Rogen said.
He revealed that Garth Ennis, creator of "Preacher" comics, asked them if they would change it for the TV series, and they said they don't know. Garth advised that they should otherwise it won't work.
