"The Flash" season 3 star Carlos Valdes recently hinted on the possibility of the hit The CW series incorporating the Flashpoint references from the comic books.
While at the MegaCon 2016, the actor said that there will be some huge changes to "The Flash" in season 3.
"All I'm going to tell you is things are going to be different, way different. Not in a bad way; I think in a really exciting way, and it's that difference that's going to inform Barry's (Grant Gustin) trajectory throughout the season, and I think people are going to like it," he said.
Talking about the possibility of adapting Flashpoint concepts from the comic books, Valdes said that he cannot confirm exactly whether or not this will happen in season 3. What he can only say is that the upcoming episodes will be unique and different.
"I think there's every chance of a Flashpoint paradox. Some people expressed reservation about that like: 'Why are we going there?' And some people are all about it. I can say, without a doubt, wherever we go from here, it's going to be unique and it's going to be different," he said.
Valdes added that "The Flash" season 3 will continue to honor the original story from several years ago.
"It's going to honor the original chronology and the original lore while at the same time providing a new spin on it and I think it's that spirit that's allowed our shows to do as well as they do so I ask the fandom to have faith," he said.
Meanwhile, "The Flash" season 2 ended with Barry changing the events that took place when he was still a kid.
In that scene, Barry decided to save his mother Nora and his decision to do so will alter not only his life, but also the life of those around him.
If Nora is alive, this means that Barry may have not grown up to become The Flash. He may also have not ended up living with Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris West (Candice Patton).
"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on The CW sometime at the end of the year.
