It was more than a month ago when the hit police crime drama series, "Criminal Minds," concluded its eleventh season with the departure of one of its main cast members, Shemar Moore, who plays Derek Morgan in the show. Today, recent reports suggest that a crossover with its spinoff series may possibly happen in "Criminal Minds" Season 12.
During an interview with TV Guide, the executive producer of the series, Erica Messer, said that the team is looking for an actor to fill the spot that Moore left. The showrunner added that they are talking about the future of the franchise, and that they do not intend to have a smaller cast roster.
In fact, Messer said that they would need a lot of people, knowing that the agents need the number to defeat and catch the unsubs or the serial criminals that escaped. Despite of the EPs revelation, she did not expose the person that they would want to hire for "Criminal Minds" Season 12.
Meanwhile, "Criminal Minds" Season 12 might be having a crossover with its spinoff series. Rumors are loud that BAU agent Aaron Hotch, played by Thomas Gibson, and Jack Garrett, played by Gary Sinise, may be seen together in one show, Christian Times reported.
According to the same publication, "Criminal Minds" Season 12 is going to be a difficult time for the team because they would be doing a major manhunt of 12 dangerous criminals who have escaped from prison. With that said, there may be a chance that the Behavioral Analysis Unit would get the assistance of the "Beyond Border's" team led by Garrett.
It was also cited that the production team of the series is now choosing among the list of the recent season's bad guys in order to complete the 12 notorious criminals that are said to be the main mission of Hotch and his team of FBI agents in "Criminal Minds" Season 12.
In terms of the release date, it is said that "Criminal Minds" Season 12 is going to premiere at the later part of 2016 under the same network, CBS.
