iPhone 7 and the so-called iPhone 7 "Pro" models have appeared this week in new renderings from 3D illustrator Martin Hajek. The images reveal most of the key details of the new Apple smartphone that have shown up online during the past several weeks.
The larger iPhone 7 concept includes a back-facing dual camera that has appeared in many concept images. Two lenses sit beside one back-facing microphone hole and circular flash.
This setup would result in faster focusing. It would also take two types of photos, including one with a large angle lens, and the other with a basic smartphone lens, according to Slash Gear.
Next, the back-facing camera on the iPhone 7 renders show a large camera lifted high above the iPhone's flat back. A sapphire glass cover might be included to prevent scratches. It also contains a single microphone hole and a circle with flash LEDs inside it.
Meanwhile, one row of speaker holes is seen on the iPhone 7 images. Other concept images have shown four speaker grids including two on the top and bottom.
In previous iPhone models the antenna bands went straight across the back of the handsets near the top and bottom. However, in the new images they curve around the top and bottom backs of the mobile devices.
The bottom of the phone includes a single microphone hole and a Lightning jack. In addition, the iPhone 7 renders also show the new location of the power button, lock switch, and volume keys.
One question mark is the Smart Connector that shows up close to the bottom of the iPhone 7 Pro. It was good choice for the iPad Pro for connecting the tablet to a smart keyboard dock, but might be in a different location on the iPhone 7 series when the final products are rolled out later this year.
In related news, Tendigi CTO Nick Lee recently showed off his new project that uses a special iPhone case to allow Android OS to run on an iPhone, according to Mac Rumors. Lee also previously ran Windows 95 on an Apple Watch.
The developer made a 3D printed iPhone case and added a Lemaker HiKey board, battery pack, and hardware. The case plugs into the iPhone's Lightning port. While the iPhone displays the Android OS, the hardware in the case powers Google's operating system.
