Apple can announce the iPhone 7 at their WWDC but speculations are already starting to fly out with one pertaining to the 256GB storage choice and the lengthening of their hardware cycle.

Several reports are claiming that the iPhone 7 would come out as another boring device from the Cupertino-based tech company. The increase in the storage capacity is normal for evolving smartphones.

Besides the 256GB internal storage option, the new smartphone from Apple is also rumored to pack a dual-camera setup. There are also conflicting rumors of a Smart Connector appearing on the phone.

Reliable leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer had posted several leaked photos of the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro taken from the Chinese social network Weibo, Forbes has learned. The photo showed that the new Apple smartphones would have a 256GB capacity for the internal storage and a dual-camera setup.

Another speculation is that Apple will finally move forward with dumping the 16GB option as the base model. Instead, the new smartphones could have a minimum of 32GB for the internal storage option.

One possible reason for the sudden increase in the iPhone 7 storage is the drop in NAND Flash prices, Network World reported. The huge reduction in cost could allow not only Apple but other manufacturers as well to step up their game.

Even Samsung has recently come up with the massive 6GB LPDDR4 RAM module that would most likely be featured in their Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy X phones. Rumors say that the next Apple smartphone could feature up to 3GB RAM.

Apple is also rumored to be changing their major iPhone launch cycle from the traditional two years up to three because of the production challenges. Nikkei reported that the slowing smartphone market could be forcing the company to adjust.

The iPhone 7 is still expected to be revealed at company's upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple could finally confirm the 256GB, dual camera setup and the longer cycle changes at the event. The iOS 10 could also be announced as the newest large major update for iPhones and iPads across the globe.
