Persistent rumors point to nearly the same build and design for the iPhone 7 release date this 2016, meaning the next iPhone is just about identical to the models issued in the past two years. Now fresh evidences have surfaced that support such possibility, suggesting in the process that it is the iPhone 7S or iPhone 8 that will prove as Apple's next game-changer.
And Apple fanboys will have wait until 2018 for the truly revamped, inside and out, iPhone to be realized. Meanwhile, Forbes picked up the latest leaked cases of the upcoming 2017 iPhones and the quick conclusion - no major revisions for the next iPhone externals.
As the protective cases can be fitted with the iPhone 6 and 6S, Forbes said that it is safe to assume that the nothing much will change with the iPhone 7, at least on the outside. Except for the camera lens opening that doesn't match with the old models, the cases that supposedly came from a credible source can be used with old iPhones, that is if users don't mind the awkward-looking camera cutout.
Rumors say that the bigger iPhone 7 Plus will have a dual camera setting, which explains the minor adjustment. Setting that aside, the report said that if the iPhone cases will prove authentic they will confirm the rumors that Apple is now following a three-year cycle for its device design blueprint.
While reports have indicated that the next iPhone will have a slimmer and lighter build and a cleaner back finish due to the supposed pushing of the rear antenna band to the device's outer edge, the leaked cases paint a next-generation iPhone that shares the design language of its last two predecessors.
Analyst Ming-chi Kuo has recently reported that it is the iPhone that is packed with fresh innovations. The 2017 model, Kuo said, will bring back the glass front and back finish first seen with the iPhone 4. The so-called iPhone 7S or iPhone 8 will still have a metal chassis sandwiched by the glass panels, according to the KGI analyst.
And as if supporting the normally accurate Kuo, Foxconn, Apple's bigger iPhone manufacturing partner, was reported as saying that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be met by weak demands from the September 2016 launch date until early 2017. Total orders by Apple will decline by nearly 9% compared to the 2015 figures and per the report by Apple Insider the slide is being blamed on the rumored lack of innovations for the next iPhone.
Even as Apple is drumming up excitement for the iOS 10 and A10 chip-powered iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, fans appear more inclined to wait out for the iPhone 7S or 8 2017 release date, which is widely perceived as the next Apple game-changer.
