The Chicago Auto Show may not be as big as the recently concluded Detroit Auto show, the former still offers an excellent opportunity for attendees to witness some of the most exciting and revolutionary concepts in the automotive world.
For car manufacturers the Chicago Auto Show is the place to generate news that might have been overshadowed in the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Following closely to the Detroit Auto Show, the Chicago Auto Show is also a place for car manufacturers to present their products without much of a competition, according to Daily News.
Among the highly anticipated cars in the show is the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Hyundai surprised everyone in Detroit after unveiling their crossover truck design and they are maintaining their momentum by a follow-up presentation in Chicago. The Santa Cruz combines the utility function of a pick-up truck and the versatility of a crossover.
Following its successful presentation in the Detroit Auto Show, the 600-horsepower Ford GT will no doubt continue to amaze attendees in Chicago. Sporting the jaw-dropping liquid blue carbon fiber body, the GT is set to hit the race tracts on 2016.
Chicago Automobile Trade Association spokesman Mark Bilek said that the Chicago Auto Show greatly benefit from the attention the Detroit Auto Show generates, according to Detroit Free Press. He added that consumers are now excited to come to Chicago in hopes of seeing the Ford GT, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, Acura NSX and other cars that caught their attention on the show in Detroit.
Head of online automotive site AutoWeb Michael Harley said, "Chicago to me is one of the more casual, consumer-friendly shows. There is not the same hustle and bustle and constantly bein on the run."
Chicago Auto Show will take place at the Chicago McCormick Place convention center and will run from Feb. 14 to Feb. 22.
