The latest details for "Resident Evil 7" will feature new game details for within the sequel and a possible "Resident Evil 2" remake demo added to the finished game.
Capcom introduced "Resident Evil 7" during this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo event last week along with a new game trailer and free demo gameplay "Beginning Hour" for PlayStation 4 users. The sequel will feature the game returning to its original roots of "survival horror" genre rather than the more action-oriented gameplay style in the current "Resident Evil" games.
"Resident Evil 7" will also be the first game in the franchise to feature a virtual reality gameplay as PS4 users will utilize the capabilities of Sony's VR headgear the PlayStation VR and even other devices like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Game director Koushi Nakanishi stated in the interview that the "Beginning Hour" demo is a tonal preview rather than a content preview that focuses on the key pillars of the game which is fear, horror and exploration of the environment. Meaning, the demo brings an aesthetic and design principle as the demo is a sampler of emotion not game mechanics.
Nakanishi added that a first person view is a perfect way to evoke the three pillars in "Resident Evil 7", but he clarified that Capcom is aware of what makes the "Resident Evil" franchise popular and will still feature puzzle solving, resource management and combat, Gamerant reported.
Unfortunately, "Resident Evil 7" may not feature any Quick Time Events, which wad featured in "Resident Evil 4","Resident Evil 5" and "Resident Evil 6". The demo did not feature any QTE gameplay, but Capcom has not commented on that matter and it feature that when the actual finished product is finished.
In other news, several rumors are making rounds that "Resident Evil 7" will feature a demo of "Resident Evil 2" remake.
A NeoGaf user posted the loading screen of "Resident Evil 7" and claimed that strip numbers of the left-hand side of the screen indicates clues of "Resident Evil 2" remake. The second string of numbers corresponds to the product ID of the first "Resident Evil" in the PlayStation console specifically the "Director’s cut" which that included a demo "Resident Evil 2".
With that in mind, gamers believed that Capcom will put a demo of "RE2" remake in "Resident Evil 7" as soon as the game is finished and will likely be added in a bundle pack.
For now, Capcom has not yet responded to the rumored claim regarding "Resident Evil 2" remake demo within the game.
"Resident Evil 7" will launch on Jan. 14, 2017 for the PS4, PS VR, Xbox One and PC platforms.
