"High School Musical 4" star Ashley Tisdale, who plays the character of Sharpay Evans recently revealed that she will not be returning for the series' next installment. The news will definitely hurt her fans, who have been following her for the last three seasons.

In an interview with New You, Tisdale set the record straight amidst speculation if she will come back or not to reprise her role in the Disney musical hit TV movie. The young producer and entrepreneur also expressed her support for "High School Musical 4" given that the show will feature new casts.

 "No. Looking back, it was such a perfect thing for its time and was so pure that I just don't know how you go from there," Tisdale told the magazine about not returning to "High School Musical 4."  "High School Musical didn't make us, we made High School Musical because of our friendship, how close we were, and the magic there at the time."

Tisdale opened up that it was a challenge for her to depart from the popular series. She went on to add that being tied up to the show as Evans made it harder for her when some people assumed her for the role she played. Despite the challenges of quitting the series, she revealed that she enjoyed the journey she had with the whole casts, whom until now remain as her close friends.

Since leaving "High School Musical," Tisdale has made a name in different industries as an actress, a singer, a producer and a businesswoman. She just finished filming "Amateur Night" and lent her voice in "Charming" as Cinderella.

Tisdale is also making a name in the beauty industry as she collaborated with BH Cosmetics for Illuminate, a new line of makeup. The "High School Musical" alum is also engaged in a lifestyle blog, "The Haute Mass" and signed up with Signorelli for a new clothing brand.

Her opportunities do not stop from there as Tisdale is also producing. She is managing her own company, the Blondie Girl Productions that caters successful shows such as "Young & Hungry" and "Miss Adventure." Ten years after the hit musical series, Tisdale regards her experience with the TV movie as a blessing.

Earlier, there were rumors that Tisdale would appear in "High School Musical 4" to play a cameo role, E! News reported. A new character Campbell, plays the role of Sharpay's cousin that made rounds in the internet that she would be seen one more time in the Disney series.

Talking about not giving up, Tisdale said that right things happen at the right time. She added,"If you want to do something, you've just got to keep going for it."
