"A Flying Jatt" director Remo D'Souza, who is making a debut in the action genre wants to try different film genres. His first project, the 2011 film, "F.A.L.T.U." was about college education. The filmmaker is also a big fan of martial arts stars Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, as he was into martial arts before dancing.
As for working with actor Tiger Shroff who plays the titular role in the upcoming "A Flying Jatt," the director was all praises. He is impressed with the actor being a hardworking one.
"He is very sincere and also very talented. It's a rare combination," he told a news agency in an interaction session. "He is flying and he is a Jatt in the film. He is India's first Sardar superhero."
Jacqueline Fernandez stars in the action film with Sharad Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon and Amrita Singh, while former professional wrestler Nathan Jones will play as the villain. Set to release on Aug. 25, the movie has mother and daughter Shobha and Ekta Kapoor as producers and ALT Entertainment as distributor.
D'Souza will also be a super-judge of "Dance Plus," a dance-based reality show on Star Plus, an India-based general entertainment TV channel in Hindi. Dancers Punit Pathak, Dharmesh Yelande and Shakti Mohan will appear as mentors in the show. The dance show will air from July 2.
The choreographer-turned-filmmaker is excited about the dance show's second season on Star Plus, though he was not confident at first about going beyond the first season. However, that changed because he had seen the talent. Furthermore, the presence of Pathak will make judging more fun, CatchNews reported.
Meanwhile, the Indian dancer-director is taking a 10-day family vacation, for the first time in 15 years, enough for him to forget how a vacation feels like. His wife Lizelle did all the planning. The family will visit places like Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand with their two sons, according to Times of India.
The ace filmmaker does not know the details of the trip so it would come as a surprise for him, though he is sure it would be all fun. He had been working late nights to make sure there will be no problem in his absence.
