Five actors whom filmmakers do not want to work with

It is a common thing in the entertainment world to have several actors who are difficult to work with, according to some filmmakers. Many directors have complaints about a handful of stars out of experience from working with them.

"Batman Forever" star Val Kilmer may be a hero in his character, but the actor does not appear likeable to some directors. On the set of "The Island of Dr. Moreau in 1994, director Richard Stanley found Kilmer a difficult person. To impress Kilmer, the studio fired Stanley after three days and was replaced by John Frankenheimer who likewise did not like Kilmer's work ethic, News.com.au reported.

Cast as Kate Gekko in the 1987 "Wall Street," Sean Young played as the wife of Michael Douglas' character but did not want the role. She pleaded director Oliver Stone to make her Gekko's girlfriend, who was played by Daryl Hannah. The frustrated Stone changed the script and had to cut most of Young's lines.  

Steven Spielberg admitted to "60 Minutes" in a soft voice that he does not like to work with Julia Roberts after "Hook" in 1991. Roberts was emotionally disturbed while on the set when her fiancé Kiefer Sutherland called off their engagement four days prior to the wedding. She played Tinkerbell in the movie but the crew labelled her Tinkerhell.

In "Steven Spielberg: A Biography," Roberts was mentioned to come up late on the set and would say she is ready when she would finally arrive. Spielberg would respond, "We're ready when I say we're ready, Julia".

Shooting "Chinatown" in 1974 was not that great for actress Faye Dunaway and filmmaker Roman Polanski. The two often had clashes and even lashed each other in public.

Director Kevin Smith found working with Bruce Willis in the 2010 "Cop Out" not a great experience. The actor appeared to be the meanest, unhappiest and most bitter before the filmmaker.

If there are actors who are difficult to work with, there are also those whom their co-workers consider  blessings to have on the set. Some of them are Jennifer Lawrence, Drew Barrymore, Tom Hunks, Hugh Jackman, Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise and Will Smith, according to Fame Focus.
