The highly anticipated KBS2 drama "Uncontrollably Fond" that stars Kim Woo Bin and Suzy is expected to enjoy high viewership ratings in Korea and other parts of the world. Latest updates indicate that showrunners for "Uncontrollably Fond" have adopted the same strategies that were used for the hit "Descendants of the Sun."
KBS2 is looking to recreate the same success that it enjoyed with "Descendants of the Sun" for its upcoming drama titled "Uncontrollably Fond," Korea Times reported. The romantic drama features some of Korea's top stars such as Miss A's Bae Suzy and "Heirs" star Kim Woo Bin. Showrunners for the said drama have even followed the same steps taken by the "Descendants of the Sun" team to ensure its commercial success.
All twenty episodes of KBS2's new drama have already been filmed well beyond the show's premiere date. "Uncontrollably Fond" will also be aired in 11 countries at nearly the same time as its Korean episode release. One of the said countries includes China where the drama's broadcasting rights were sold at a $250,000 rate per episode, as indicated in the same report. Avid "Descendants of the Sun" fans may recall that the said Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo drama was also sold for the same rate in China.
"Uncontrollably Fond" tells the story of Kim Woo Bin's character Shin Joon Young who is a demanding Korean superstar and Bae Suzy's Noh Eul who is a documentary producer. The two characters first met when they were young but were separated because of an incident. They then reunited after several years when their chosen professions pushed them together.
KBS2 has also recently released a highlight trailer that provided an extended preview at what fans may expect from "Uncontrollably Fond," Soompi reported. The clip features a look at the two characters' backstory and a peek at the tragic event that split them apart. The trailer also unveiled some of the drama's heartbreaking scenes and the complicated love line between Kim Woo Bin, Bae Suzy, Im Joo Hwan and Im Joo Eun.
"Uncontrollably Fond" will air every Wednesday and Thursday on KBS2. The drama is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 6.
