Game Developer From Software has still not explained "Dark Souls 3's" mysterious poise stat issue. The developers have also confessed that they are not proud of the issue as well.
According to Kotaku, the mysterious stat has always frustrated the video game's loyal community in the past few months, and there are still ongoing debates on what it really does in the game. The game franchise is intentionally mysterious, but sometimes the developers make some of its important features too mysterious for their fans to grasp that they get frustrated instead. In the third game of the franchise, the poise stat has no effect on staggering, despite the many elements in the game suggesting that is what it really does.
The game developer said in a statement that the poise stat is working as intended, and not disabled as some members of the gaming community guessed. Series director Hidetaka Miyazaki said to the publication that they are not particularly proud of their decision of how the feature works. While he did not give any specific details about the issue, he thought that it can still be improved, and they will be working on it in the future.
According to VG247, the gaming community has been doing a lot of attempts to find out what the stat really does, but the game developer just assured that it is working as intended. While a few of the community members believed their answer, most of them were still confused on how it works, and in the end, nobody still knows exactly how it works in the game.
A Bandai Namco spokesperson told Kotaku's Patrick Klepek in a statement that the stat works differently compared to the prequels of the game. The spokesperson added that the stat works in certain situations only.
In other news, the popular video game will get two DLC packs, with one of them to come within this year, and the other next year. These two DLC packs are still being developed by the game company, and there have been no specific details on what content the players will be expecting.
