AMC's "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is set to return in October and it is doing a really good job with driving its fans crazy, after the Season 6 ended with a massive cliffhanger. In a recent TV guesting, series creator Robert Kirkman, 37, confirmed outright that the dearly departed character is a fan favorite.
The final episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 6, which aired on April 3, saw the arrival of the menacing villain, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who is the leader of the Saviors. The 90-minute season episode ended with Negan, taking a deadly swing on one of the survivors.
As the blood dripped and vision blurred, Negan remarked that they are "taking it like a champ." Again and again, Negan brings his baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire on the head of the unknown victim until its vision finally passed out.
Many fans have apparently spent all season pondering who it was that succumbed to Negan's fatal blows. While the show's cast and crew are all so tight-lipped about it, series creator Kirkman vaguely teases Negan's victim during his guest appearance on "The Talking Dead."
"As upset as people probably are at Negan's introduction and how he's coming in and killing somebody who is very beloved to everyone," TV Line quoted Kirman as saying. "From his perspective, he's the hero of his story, like most villains."
AMC just released the first photo from "The Walking Dead" Season 7 on the show's Twitter account on July 14, Thursday. It gave fans a horrible taste of the much-awaited season, as it shows the 11 potential victims before the menacing villain and his infamous bat, Lucille.

Executive producer Greg Nicotero reassured fans the long wait will be over as soon as the show finally returns in October. He also confirmed speculations that viewers will soon find out which character will suffer an ill fate in the first episode of Season 7.
"Negan is that kind of guy," Nicotero told Entertainment Weekly, adding that viewers should expect more lengthy speeches from the villain. "He's the kind of guy who imagines himself on a stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it... the sound of his own voice while he commands that stage in front of whoever's alive."
