The season six finale of AMC's "The Walking Dead" ended with a massive cliffhanger, all thanks to the arrival of the menacing villain, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Avid fans of the post-apocalypse TV series have spent all season wondering who may perish at the hands of Negan and his barbed-wire-covered baseball bat called Lucille.
Now, in a bid to avoid spoiling the much-awaited premiere of "The Walking Dead" Season 7, unnamed sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the show's cast and crew members had already filmed 11 different death scenes, in an effort to keep the identity of Negan's victim under wraps. The producers and the episode director will then work with the show's editors and decide on who gets killed by Negan's barbed-wire-covered baseball bat.
It can be recalled that season six ended with Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Glenn (Steven Yeun), Rosita (Christian Serratos), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), Arron (Ross Marquand), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) - all lined up before the menacing villain taking a deadly swing at one of them using Lucille.
Although it remains to be seen as to which character will endure an ill fate, series creator Robert Kirkman previously said that Negan's victim is beloved to everyone. Hence, speculations are rife that Michonne will most likely get struck by Negan's Lucille, causing her sudden demise.
Earlier reports claimed that such incident will fuel more wrath and inflict more pain on Rick and the rest of Alexandria survivors. As a result, rumors have it that King Ezekiel and his pet tiger, Shiva, will most likely make their arrival in the show's forthcoming season. It is said that King Ezekiel will reportedly collaborate with Rick with an end goal to bring down the indecent Negan.
In its comic book counterpart, Ezekiel is said to have a strong disdain for Negan and the Saviors. The Kingdom, which was initially hinted in the penultimate episode of season six, is said to be another new world for Rick and Alexandria survivors' to inhabit and explore.
"Season 7 of 'The Walking Dead,' there's all new worlds that we're going to meet," IGN quoted series director and producer Greg Nicotero as saying. "The Walking Dead" Season 7 is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 9 on AMC.
