"America's Got Talent" season 11 is already gearing up for its upcoming live shows, and two teenagers are already being pitted against each other.
Just this week, One Direction member Louis Tomlinson gave 14-year-old Jayna Brown a golden buzzer. This means that she will automatically head to the finals.
At that time, the adorable teen performed a heartfelt rendition of Andra Day's hit single "Rise Up."
Following her performance, Brown spoke with Rolling Stone to reveal that it was actually "America's Got Talent" that reached out to her and asked her to audition again.
When she was nine, Brown auditioned for the hit NBC reality TV show, but she didn't make the cut.
"At that time, I was already committed to another project. They kept calling me and finally I just decided to do it," she said.
Meanwhile, at the age of 11, Brown had the opportunity to perform one of her original songs "I'll Do Me" with Snarky Puppy.
The fact that the singer also writes her own lyrics made some fans compare her with 12-year-old contestant Grace Vanderwaal.
Vanderwaal also received a golden buzzer from "America's Got Talent" judge Howie Mandel after she sang her original song "I Don't Know My Name."
After which, the New York native starred in some interviews and said that she's never performed in front of such a huge crowd before she auditioned in "America's Got Talent."
Unlike Brown, Vanderwaal does not have much experience when it comes to performing live or for an audience. The latter's friends only found out that she sings after she appeared on the show.
In other news, votes for both Vanderwaal and Brown could go several different ways. At present, both young talents already have such a huge following on social media.
Some fans believe that it is Vanderwaal's originality that will give her the opportunity to advance to the finale. On the other hand, it is Brown's technique that could make her run on the show a success.
"America's Got Talent" season 11 will air its first live show on Aug. 2 at 9 p.m. ET.
