Featured during the New York Fashion Week, the Kanye West X Adidas Originals Collection was generally disliked by critics that Time even suggested Kanye West needs to quit his music career if he wants to make it as a fashion designer.
Many consider the Kanye West X Adidas Originals Collection as Kim Kardashian's husband's best effort as a fashion designer so far and the one that actually looked the most like a collection. However, the collection still failed to establish his name as a celebrity designer.
Among the critics that commented on West's NYFW collection is the Daily Mail, which noted that the rapper's clothes are "just fine if you want to look like you've forgotten to get dressed."
Not only is West aspiring to become an established fashion designer. He and his wife are also trying their hands in modelling.
In 2014, Anna Wintour denied the allegations that West begged her to feature him and her then fiancée to be featured in the April 2014 cover of Vogue photographed by Annie Leibovitz.
The 64-year-old Editor-in-Chief described April 2014 Vogue cover a touching and charming photograph. It featured Kardashian wearing a strapless Lanvin wedding dress with West behind affectionately holding her.
With nothing but praises for the couple, Wintour described West as both a cultural provocateur and a remarkable performer and Kardashian as a strong woman who managed to create an international celebrity status for herself.
Wintour has been editing the magazine since 1988. She said it is the tradition of Vogue to feature people who can be influential and can change the world by defining culture at the given time, a role she said is now being played by Kardashian and West.
