"The Flash" season 3 lead star Grant Gustin recently talked about the upcoming Flashpoint storyline from the hit The CW series.
While at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, the actor shared that he was able to watch "Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox."
Even though the upcoming premiere episode of "The Flash" season 3 will have some similarities with the comic book, the actor said that their take will be more different from it.
"We can try to talk about Flashpoint, yeah. I'll tiptoe around stuff. It's different. It's its own thing. When I was cast last... God, it's been almost three years now, one of the first things I did was watch 'Flashpoint Paradox,' because it was... everyone talks about it. I loved it. But obviously, we're not going to have Batman, we're not going to have Superman or Wonder Woman, and that's kind of like... everything that happens in 'Flashpoint Paradox,'" he said.
Meanwhile, "The Flash" executive producers Aaron and Todd Helbing said that it was quite the challenge for the two of them to adapt some parts of the comic books into the series while still making it unique.
"I mean, we're really inspired by the comic book, I loved it personally. But there's certain limitations on what we can do just being a TV show. There's a lot of... I mean, Thomas Wayne, Wonder Woman and Aquaman. So we just try to do what we can and what we feel emotionally feels right for the story. So we try to take pieces that we can from it and tell the best story that we can," Aaron said.
In other news, there were some rumors that amongst the three main characters from the "Flashpoint Paradox," it is Aquaman that will make it to "The Flash" season 3. After all, Batman and Wonder Woman are currently being shown in FOX's "Gotham."
Todd, on the other hand, talked about the emotional connection that people should get when watching the Flashpoint storyline.
According to him, "How do you get that emotional response from people? We might not use the exact same events that happened."
"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
