South Korean actor Lee Jong Suk, 26, turned a little pink when he discussed locking lips with co-star Han Hyo Joo, 29, in MBC's "W." In the on-going drama, the stars play Kang Chul and Dr. Oh Yeon Joon, respectively.
Recently, the drama's production staff released behind-the-scenes clips to multiple local news outlets. The released clips obtained by Soompi gave fans a look at Lee and Han's undeniable on-screen chemistry.
The behind-the-scenes clip shows Lee and Han shooting their first kissing scene, where the latter's character suddenly kisses the former in an attempt to stun him. The pair then gets giggly in between takes, after Lee told Han that she should tip him in exchange for the kiss.
Upon watching the preview of their first kissing scene, Lee commented, "Did I lean into it?," before he ran away from the scene because of too much embarrassment. His co-star then yelled teasingly, "Kang Chul's face has gone red! It really has!"
It was previously reported that both stars grew shy around each other after they filmed a kissing scene on their first day on set. Despite the awkwardness, Lee and Han managed to portray a unique chemistry, which resulted in an impeccable scene.
"There are a lot of scenes with physical contact between me and Han Hyo Joo," All K-pop quoted Lee as saying during the July 24 broadcast of "Section TV." "Because we did the kiss scenes so often, I grew numb to them."
"W" follows the story of a man and a woman who find their purpose for existence while living in a different dimension. As the story goes back and forth between reality and the webtoon of "W," Dr. Oh Yeon Joo (Han) struggles to keep Kang Chul (Lee) alive, as the young chaebol falls into one dangerous situation after another.
During the drama's press conference at the MBC headquarters in Seoul on July 18, Han revealed that the series has the most kissing scenes out of all the dramas she's starred in. She added, "I'm expecting it to produce the greatest kissing scene of all time."
