Josh Duggar is being sued by the man whose face he used in social media and dating sites, such as on Ashley Madison, OkCupid and Twitter. Matthew McCarthy said the reality star's act of hijacking his image caused him humiliation.
Duggar admitted last year of porn addiction and cheating on his 28-year-old wife, Anna, after hackers exposed millions of users of Ashley Madison which tagline is "Life is short. Have an affair." The Duggar couple married in 2008 and have four children, the youngest of which is a baby girl born in July 2015.
The 28-year-old Duggar's mess caused the cancellation of their family's series on TLC "19 Kids and Counting." As if it is not enough, now he faces a lawsuit for using someone's photo in his profile on dating and cheating sites.
McCarthy was shocked when his face was used as the profile photo on several accounts of Duggar to lure women. His photo is said to have been found when Duggar typed "random guy" in Google search.
The lawsuit said McCarthy was raised in a Catholic family and being connected to someone's porn life as Duggar's has been mortifying. A photographer and DJ by trade, McCarthy added he has been getting harassing messages, being labelled as "DJ Duggar" or "Duggar's boy toy." He is suing Duggar for using his image wrongfully, and for damages or cash, TMZ reported.
McCarthy's photo was used to create an OK Cupid profile linked to one of Duggar's email addresses. Duggar's email address for his Ashley Madison account was linked to an OK Cupid account. Such email address was also used by a Facebook account "Joe Smithson," which the Duggar son used to deal with lingerie models and strippers, according to Mail Online.
McCarthy claimed he had DJ gigs canceled after being linked to Duggar's scandal. He hopes to win damages but the TV personality seems currently hard-up caused by the scandal. With cash not flowing anymore, the last time he was heard, he was working at a car leadership.
The "19 Kids and Counting" star blamed his uncontrollable porn addiction and admitted he has been a hypocrite. In May 2015, the former advocate of family values confessed to have sexually molested young girls as a teen, including four of his sisters.
