2K Games has recently dropped some bad news that XCOM 2 release date for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One will be delayed for three more weeks as it is not yet ready.
XCOM 2 has already been released for the PC in Linux, OSX and Microsoft Windows on February 5, 2016. Console versions of Firaxis Games' turn-based tactics shooter has been delayed even further to September 27 due to undisclosed reasons.
There could be a problem with the game's codes or bugs are still popping up. In any way, 2K Games has not revealed the cause of the delay for the XCOM 2 console versions.
2K Games made the announcement during their Q1 2017 earnings call saying that they need three more weeks to prepare for the XCOM 2 PS4 and Xbox One release, Hardcore Gamer has learned. It would also include all of the special editions and the DLCs that have already been released for the PC versions of XCOM 2.
XCOM 2 follows the events of XCOM Enemy Unknown 20 years after. In the previous game, XCOM failed to fend off the alien invasion from taking over the Earth.
The new installation now puts the players against the aliens once again as they try to stay alive as a resistance force against the alien occupants on Earth. XCOM 2 still has the strategic gameplay embedded in the heart of the title but there are new features.
XCOM 2 is available for $59.99 but the XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition costs $74.99 as it includes the three DLCs that were already launched for the PC, PlayStation Lifestyle reported. The XCOM 2 DLC includes Shen's Last Gift, Alien Hunters and Anarchy's Children.
Pre-ordering XCOM 2 for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One will net buyers the Resistance Warrior Pack that includes several more bonus outfits and customization options for their characters in the game. It would also include the new XCOM recruit dubbed as the Survivor of the Old War what will appear in the new Avenger's barracks base.
XCOM 2 for the Xbox One and the PS4 is now expected to be released by 2K Games on September 27. Pre-orders are still possible today for players who want to get the most out of their playing experience.
