A new video claiming to show Apple Inc.'s new iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone 7 Pro mockup has surfaced online. The video, which was leaked on YouTube earlier last week, follows rumors that the multinational technology company will be launching a new iPhone this year with dual-lens camera.
According to Fortune, popular YouTube channel "Unbox Therapy," claimed to have obtained the "first accurate" mockup of what it calls the iPhone 7 Plus exclusively from the Chinese company that developed it. The new iPhone looks just like the device seen in other leaked videos and images.
The new iPhone, the news magazine noted, does not have a headphone jack but features dual speakers and movement of antenna lines connecting to cellular networks to the device's spine. It also comes with Smart Connector points, which is currently offered only in the iPad Pro and is used to connect the tablet to a keyboard.
The video also shows the new iPhone as having a blue finish, which is something consumers have yet to see in any of the leaked images of the iPhone 7. The report pointed out that blue iPhone 7 would be a new revelation as people believed that Apple will stick with its signature silver, rose gold, gold, and space grey colors, with the possibility that it would add a space black model. There were no tips of any blue models, the report added.
Fortune added that the device shown in the video is made from the same components as and features an almost identical design to the iPhone 6s. This matches with earlier rumors.
There is, however, some debate over what Apple will eventually call this new version and how many iPhones it will be launching this year.
The Next Web wrote that the mockup video is showing what is billed as the iPhone 7 Plus or the iPhone 7 Pro, which some people think will be a third phone in the Apple's new lineup. The company is reportedly expected to release its iPhone 7 in the Fall.
The report also explained that the new iPhone's dual camera set-up means that users may be able to snap both pixel-dense ad wide-angle images at once. Other people believe that this will mean that the cameras will serve as Lytro-style method for allowing users to switch focal points after the image has been taken without losing quality.
Some reports mentioned that the iPhone 7 will come with a 4.7-inch screen and will have a single camera lens, while some say it will be 5.5 inches. Some also reported a Plus model, which will feature a single-lens camera, and a new Pro model, which will feature a dual-lens camera.
