Capcom revealed new healing herb items that the gamers will use in playing "Resident Evil 7" as photo of the healing item set has been posted online. What made the photo more interesting is that there is a coin lingering on the healing herbs, which raised several questions among the video game community. The use of coins as healing items has not been implemented on the "Resident Evil" franchise. Moreover, it is difficult to comprehend exactly how such an object is intended to improve physical well-being of the player, especially when their medical complaint is likely to be related to zombie attacks. Capcom has also dealt with the mysterious finger item in the "Beginning Hour" demo, which has not, as of yet, serve a purpose.

Perhaps this is Capcom's way of promoting "Resident 7" by using strange and mysterious items to give a fans a chance to be excited and curious about the sequel's main plot, Gamerant reported.

In other news, a new main protagonist will be introduced in "Resident Evil 7" as game producer Masachika Kawata and game director Koshi Nakanish stated that the main hero will be a "powerless" person compared to the more experienced and battle hardened characters.

Kawata explained that in order to gain the proper horror experience to the gamers, the first person features of "Resident Evil 7" will make them feel like they are actually the main character in the story. They cannot look at the perspective of a "macho" hero character when playing the game knowing they are also scared in doing so.

When asked about who is the main character in "Resident 7", Kawata explained that for now they are not going to tell in full detail, but assured that the character is an ordinary person stuck in an extraordinary situation. He added that having that element will brings the horror in the sequel as they the players themselves will be thinking what will happen next and how will he/she cope with the situation happening to him/her right now.

Nakanishi clarified that "Resident Evil 7" is not a reboot of the series, but an existing sequel to the main games. He cited that several gamers are not convinced that the demo is nothing like the previous "Resident Evil" titles, but stated that they wanted to have a bit of "mystery" into it as to mak gamers wonder, what story is it all about.

Lastly, "Resident Evil 7" will not be some sort of supernatural "ghost story" as anyone thinks as he confirmed that they are still sticking with elements of series, namely bio weapons and mutated zombies. For now, Capcom will not reveal any further details about it, but urge fans to wait for further updates for the game soon, Capcom-Unity reported.

Capcom looks to improve more features in "Resident Evil 7" by developing the VR gameplay, but they will need more funding in order to have the tools necessary to make it work.

"Resident Evil 7" will launch on Jan. 14, 2017 for the PS4, PS VR, Xbox One and PC platforms.
