The latest details for "Resident Evil 7" will feature more funds for the VR compatibility development and a possible "Resident Evil 2" remake demo.
Several rumors are making rounds regarding a "Resident Evil 2" remake demo in the latest game sequel, "Resident Evil 7" as a NeoGaf user claimed that the strip numbers on the left hand side of the "Beginning Hour" demo featured clues on "RE2" remake. The second string of numbers corresponds to the product ID of the first "Resident Evil" in the PlayStation console specifically the "Director’s cut" which that included a demo "Resident Evil 2".
Gamers speculated that Capcom will put a demo of "RE2" remake in "Resident Evil 7" as soon as the game is finished and will likely be added in a bundle pack, Gamerant reported.
For now, Capcom has not made any comments regarding the rumored "Resident Evil 2" remake demo on "Resident Evil 7".
In othere news, Capcom will looked into adding more development investment on "Resident Evil 7's" virtual reality game feature as the Japanese video game developers told VideoGamer during a Q&A session that there are certain things that they required to make the VR featured in"Resident Evil 7" exciting and relevent, with the graphics needed to make it complex as possible, so an increase in investment is necessary to make it work.
The developers will also need the necessary tools to help minimize the cost in developin "Resident Evil 7". Capcom wil need to optimize there development process via fundamental technologies including 3D scanning system, lighting and shading, which allowed them to minimize additional costs, while achieving high-quality development.
"Resident Evil 7" will be the first game in the franchise to feature a virtual reality gameplay as PS4 users will utilize the capabilities of Sony's VR headgear the PlayStation VR and even other devices like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Game director Koushi Nakanishi stated in the interview that the "Beginning Hour" demo is a tonal preview rather than a content preview that focuses on the key pillars of the game which is fear, horror and exploration of the environment. Meaning, the demo brings an aesthetic and design principle as the demo is a sampler of emotion not game mechanics.
Nakanishi added that a first person view is a perfect way to evoke the three pillars in "Resident Evil 7", but clarified that he and Capcom are aware of what makes the "Resident Evil" franchise popular and will still feature puzzle solving, resource management and combat.
"Resident Evil 7" will launch on Jan. 14, 2017 for the PS4, PS VR, Xbox One and PC platforms.
