Players should now update their Pokémon GO APK files by downloading the updated version where they got the file or through the Google Play Store for official installations as new features have arrived.
One of the largest updates for Pokémon GO is the new Nearby and Sightings feature to help trainers find Pokémon easier than before. Those who previously Pokémon GO hacks, cheats and tricks to search for the little monsters can just rely on the built-in tracking feature so that they would not get banned anymore.
Niantic has also added more warnings for Pokémon GO players that use the app or the APK while driving as it could lead to GPS soft bans, Android Police has learned. Their detection methods for GPS spoofers and fake GPS apps can also mistakenly catch those who are just playing while driving or even cycling.
Easy Pokémon GO GPS spoofing or fake GPS apps now require players to use a modified Pokémon GO APK file to work. Niantic has made it harder for third-party apps to access their API in order to fake walking and travelling.
For those who still want to use Pokémon GO GPS tricks or fake GPS tricks for the game, they will have to use an Android smartphone with root access. The hack needs another third-party app that will download modules so that even the official Pokémon GO APK file will still accept the mock location.
Players who are planning to use a fake GPS app for Pokémon GO should turn off their Google Location History first, Sportsrageous reported. They will then need to download the Xposed Installer for the required modules.
Once Xposed is installed, users will need to download the Pokémon GO controls and Mock Mock Location module. The latter will mock the detection method of the Pokémon GO APK to prevent soft bans while the former will be the one to implement the fake GPS complete with a compass control.
Pokémon GO players can then use the GPS spoofer without having to download a modified APK file. They should still use it with caution as not to get soft banned by Niantic who is out to catch those who use Pokémon GO cheats and hacks.
