The disappearance of Hayama in the on-going story of "Food Wars" left some fans speculating the character may have again joined Central, in his pursuit to become the number one chef. The reason pointed out is related to Jun, the girl closest to his heart. It is said that although he would never bend over for something without a fight, he would actually do it because of Jun.
In a discussion thread at Reddit, user WilliamTuft opened the topic when he inquired the whereabouts of the character, stating he did not join Central and is actually enrolled on another school. Others supported the speculation, saying it would be a bad writing if he gets re-instated after being expelled from it before. It can be recalled in the story that Hayama lost a Shokugeki and did not cooperate with Central, the reason why the institution kicked him out.
Meanwhile, some fans are very firm on their stand that Hayama is back on the said organization. SnowBreaker explained the character's main goal is to be number one and to win everything for Jun, which best explains why he would not change schools.
The user further explained Azami has 3 new open seats and would give one slot right away to Hayama since the latter is the best 1st year and the winner of the Autumn elections. Given that Azumi has control over Jun's class makes Hayama more qualified for the position. The fan went on explaining the story needs a very bad villain who is close to Soma and could potentially be influenced by evil.
Meanwhile, the appearance of Rindou at chapter 179 of manga had some fans speculating she will be betraying the Azami band. A thread at Manga Helpers were discussing Soma's encounter with her and they are hoping he would not challenge the said character. User Zekiel claims Rindou will reveal herself as an E10 and is currently on a secret mission.
