'Pokémon GO' is undoubtedly one of the most popular games that have revolutionized and challenged the imagination and curiosity of both users and competitors in the gaming industry. However, after enjoying an unprecedented success since it was introduced and released last month, there have been reports of dwindling user activities and engagements, thus sketching out speculations including its possible death.
Though there is still no certainty on the future of the game as it is still on its hype period, some skeptics believe that the game if not updated or managed properly, both on the front and backend of the application, it will eventually lose its momentum and popularity.
As a testament to such concern, Axiom Capital Management has given their take on the sudden popularity and noticeable drop of influence or activity of the said game.
"Given the rapid rise in usage of the Pokémon GO app since the launch in July, investors have been concerned that this new user experience has been detracting from time spent on other mobile-focused apps," Senior Analyst Victor Anthony told Bloomberg.
Gathered data revealed that during the height of the game, there are 45 million recorded daily active users, but in the most recent count, it dwindled to almost 30 million. Thus, paving for rumors of the impending death of 'Pokémon GO' if such trend will continue in the coming months.
However, not all experts and commentators are convinced on the possible early retirement of the unique game that propelled introverts to explore the outers boundaries of their areas worldwide. Though headlines have been emphasizing the declining interest of gamers of the said game, some are still convinced that both Niantic and Nintendo are doing fine.
According to some experts, such decline is natural and almost expected. However, the interpretation of the decrease of activity is misconstrued and even misrepresented by some reports. It should not simply be interpreted as a decline in its entirety, for new countries are still enjoying the game and new game contents are still to be expected.
To simply put it, players are still playing, and it's just that the drive of these players are not that intense anymore, in sense player's drive to catch 'Pokémons' somehow changed, according to Forbes.
And to somehow re-ignite the excitement for the game, it is now being reported online by some users that some 'Pokémon' nests are doing some migration. Older nest are now being transformed to double spawn nest, thus allowing higher access to rare 'Pokémons'. And these changes might be the saving grace or answer to the so-called decline of game users.
