Electronic Arts and Bioware did not show off new Mass Effect: Andromeda game footages during Gamescom as the companies are also trying to figure out whether they will remaster the previous installments.
Mass Effect: Andromeda release dates have already been delayed and pushed back to 2017. Now, there seems to be no more game footage released by EA during the Gamescom 2016 conference.
EA Studios Head Patrick Soderlund announced that they are still trying to determine if they will be making Mass Effect Remastered to be released the same as how Activision did with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Soderlund said that they are considering all the factors and that there is a high probability that the remasters would push through, Vine Report has learned.
There is no release date yet as Soderlund said that EA is still figuring out when is exactly the right time for a launch. He added that remasters are risky to release especially if there are loads of new games for fans to focus on instead of the said title.
Going back to the Andromeda title, Soderlund said that they are planning to release new game footage soon although he did not say exactly when. Soderlund confirmed that they are still focused on their upcoming titles that will be launched until December and that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be highlighted more before its release date in early 2017, Mobile & Apps reported.
With so many games releasing by the end of the year, EA and Bioware could be threading lightly as to not make a mistake in hyping the game. They want their other titles to shine first before the new Mass Effect title can be focused on so that there are no distractions like the upcoming Titanfall 2 shooter from the publisher.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is expected to be released in Q1 2017 which means game footages, trailers and early reviews could be expected by December. The lack of news and updates regarding the game during Gamescom 2016 is disappointing but it seems to be the right path for EA and Bioware considering that the game is not expected to launch until next year.
