A major event is going to take place in "The Flash" Season 3, which would have a huge effect on "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow." As previously confirmed, the third season of "The Flash" is going to follow the "Flashpoint" arc, which alters everything viewers have seen so far in the previous seasons of the show.
"Flashpoint" follows Barry Allen's decision to go back in time to the night his mother got killed and save her. This completely messes up the timeline and changes most of everything Barry has known about his life. His family is now complete, but that's not the only thing different about the show.
"The Flash" is connected with the other DC Comics shows on The CW, and that includes "Arrow," "Legends of Tomorrow," and "Supergirl." Since they all exist on the same timeline, the "Flashpoint" arc would also affect the other shows. As reported by Screen Rant, The CW president Mark Pedowitz teased that "Flashpoint" "bleeds over to every DC." However, it won't be long before things go back to normal as Pedowitz revealed it's "only for a couple of episodes" before the shows revert back to the original timeline.
"Flashpoint" will have an interesting effect on "Legends of Tomorrow," where the characters basically travel time as a day job. Since they're on the Waverider by the time Barry saves his mother, "Flashpoint" will have no direct effect on their lives. However, they become duplicates of their alternate versions on Earth, which they will discover upon their return. It will surprise them to learn that no one on Earth recognizes them.
It should be recalled that many of the characters in "Legends of Tomorrow" had their beginnings in "The Flash." If Barry is not The Flash anymore, Stein would still be a professor and Kendra would still be a Barista.
Another noteworthy thing is that Matt Letscher is joining "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 as Reverse-Flash. According to TV Line, he's also playing a series regular role in "The Flash" Season 3.
It's definitely going to be an interesting year for the DC Comics shows on The CW.
"The Flash" Season 3 premieres on Oct. 4 on The CW.
