Google will be presenting its two new Pixel phones in October. However, there is a rumor that the internet giant will also be announcing a new tablet that was built by Huawei and will be released before the year ends.
Rumor said that the new phones will no longer be called Nexus but Pixel or Pixel XL. This is when Sundar Pichai, Google's CEO said that the company wants to be "more opinionated" with the design of their phone which translates into dropping the name Nexus to use "Google" and "Pixel" brands instead.
The last two years was not good for Google's Android tablets as the 2014's Google Nexus 9 was not that much of a hit and Pixel C's software has bad reviews, so Google needs to bounce back with a better device. According to Evan Blass, a reputable phone leaker, the new Huawei-made Google tablet features 7-inch screen and 4GB of RAM, The Verge reported.
Google and Huawei did not give any comment on Blass's leaked information. The two companies have worked with Nexus 6P, so it will not be a surprise if their partnership might create another tablet in Nexus range. It is also said that HTC is going to be manufacturing the hardware for the rumored tablet, as reported by the Tech Week Europe.
HTC is also a good choice as Google's tablet partner. However, Huawei already made a name in tablet market through its MateBook that can be matched to Microsoft's Surface hybrid tablet. Google is expected to have an event on October 4 where the company will announce their two new phones, a new 4k-enable Chromecast dongle, a Daydream VR headset and the rumored new tablet.
On the other hand, Huawei just launched the MediaPad M3, an 8.4-inch tablet with 2K-resolution screen, eight-megapixel cameras (front and back), fingerprint sensor, 4GB of RAM and powered by Android, Mashable reported. The device also sports Harman Kardon-branded 1W stereo speakers.
