“Pokemon Go” is still popular as ever despite word that the active players dropped back in July. The second generation of the augmented reality game could change all that if the improvements are as good as advertised.
“Pokemon Go” Gen 2 will be tasked with rekindling the interest of gamers who have gone astray, most losing interest for one reason or another. Some have found the game recurring, not to mention flaws that have forced most to seek the aid of third-party applications.
As most know by now, Niantic has set its foot forward by enforcing bans on players who are caught doing so. The company did try to make up with new features but the efforts are far from impressive on the part of players.
Tracking was one of the singled out issues on “Pokemon Go” and the improved features hardly satisfied gamers. This is one feature expected to be tackled in the second generation patch, plus a couple of other new features.
A Buddy and Trading System are the ones speculated to be the top new features for “Pokemon Go” gen 2, interesting additions that could aid players who have been struggling with the augmented reality game, according to Reddit. Aside from those, the addition of new monsters could be another lure to jack up the player count once more.
Baby Pokemon will allegedly make its way in the second generation of “Pokemon Go”, the base form of several critters, Slashgear reported. Among the baby Pokemon reportedly coming are “Pichu”, “Smoochum”, “Tyrorogue” and “Elekid”, all of which can only be bred.
In total, there will be about 100 Pokemon characters joining in on the second generation, racking up the total of pocket monsters to 251. With lots of new Pokemon to catch, Niantic hopes that this is one aspect that can recall old players and drive in new ones.
Seeing the large influx of Pokemon, a day and night cycle may likely step in. This means that some of the “Pokemon Go” characters will appear at day and the others during night. Hence, an improved day/night cycle could be in store as well, a sensible feature that may pose a new challenge to gamers.
