Natalie Portman showed off her elegant side at the Venice Film Festival premiere of the movie "Jackie." On the other hand, the said biopic earned positive reviews from critics during the film's Italian debut.
The Hollywood star wowed fashion lovers and critics alike as she stepped on the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival in a monochrome designed dress, Daily Mail reported. Portman looked stunning during the said film festival as she attended the premiere of the biopic "Jackie" held on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
The black and white gown featured an abstract pattern of various swirls and flower-like designs. The floor-length dress also included capped sleeves and a wide V-neckline. A lace pattern also adorned the bodice of the dress that depicted the gown's abstract design.
Portman completed her look with a pair of open-toed heels, as well as a statement bracelet and diamond jewelry. She also kept her hair up in a classic French twist-like style that added to the elegance of her red carpet look.
Meanwhile, the actress stars as the titular role in the movie "Jackie." The film was directed by Pablo Larrain, a Chilean filmmaker. The said biopic also received rave reviews during its Venice Film Festival debut, as indicated in the same report.
"Jackie" tells the story of the former U.S. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. Portman described her role as "somewhat dangerous" for her given the strong impression that the former first lady left with other people. The actress made the revelation during the press screening for the movie held in Venice, Variety reported.
When asked if she would consider the said film as one her most difficult projects, Portman commented that it belongs to her list of challenging roles. She also confessed that she felt terrified in playing the iconic first lady.
Portman explained that she never thought of herself as someone who could imitate another person well. "I was just trying to get to something that people could get past and believe I was Jackie, and then you always have yourself in there too, inevitably," she added.
