Amid reports that Michael Schumacher can now walk after many months of being bed ridden, updates about his health condition are still elusive. Latest reports indicate that one of Schumi's co-racers, the equally famous Felipe Massa paid tribute to the seven-time Formula One champion during his retirement declaration.

Schumacher is getting better day by day, according to GameNguide. Although his recovery is gradual, the former F1 racer is allegedly able to walk with the help of his therapists.

Recently, Massa announced his retirement at the Italian Grand Prix as homage to the major influence that inspired him to join the high-octane scene of Formula One racing, according to Express UK. The renowned racer announced his retirement at the same event as Schumi almost four years ago. At the event, Massa said that he made sure to break the retirement news at the competition as a sign of respect to Schumacher.

On the other hand, the one-time sports marketing executive of Mercedes, Gerd Kramer, said that it would take some divine intervention for the former Ferrari racer to be seen by his fans again. Kramer indicated that Schumi's health state is undisclosed by his family.

Prior to Kramer's statement, former Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo stated months ago that the legendary F1 racer was responding quite well to the therapy that he is currently under amid the request by his family to keep the racer's condition under wrap. However, neurological consultant Dr. Peter Hamlyn reported that Schumi's path to recovery would be long and painstaking. Hamlyn added that the rehabilitation that has been draining the racer's earnings would only restore a portion of his health.

Schumi has been undergoing a series of therapies since his tragic ski accident in the French Alps in December 2013. There is no official statement on the current health condition of the former F1 champion.

Many fans were excited when they learnt that Schumacher could now take a few steps. Since neither the family nor therapists of Schumi have confirmed the claims, fans should take this information with a grain of salt until an official statement is given.
